Our History

Lenzner Lines dates to 1920, when William Lenzner, Sr. ventured into the transportation business with the purchase of a truck. William Sr. transported tools and materials for The Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania, and milk for Meadow Gold and Otto’s Dairy Farm in Berlin, PA. In 1939, William Jr. joined his father in the business and began transporting school children and commuters from the North Hills into downtown Pittsburgh. In 1947, the Lenzners purchased their first, of what would prove to be many, motorcoaches.

The 1970’s saw the loss of both William Sr. and William Jr., and in their absence, William Jr.’s sons, Charles and John stepped in. The business strengths of each son made for a great team, and the business was streamlined into focusing on the transportation of people. Growth in the motorcoach and tour business followed over the next decades!

In 1997, Lenzner Coach Lines became part of the Coach USA company, with Charles Lenzner as General Manager. During this time, Lenzner was selected as an operational hub for connections throughout Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. through the megabus.com program.

Today, the Lenzner Lines fleet has grown to include over 33 deluxe motorcoaches, minibuses, non-deluxe coaches and transit vehicles. We offer motorcoach services to many different types of customers, with a thriving tour program, started by John Lenzner, and a full-service travel agency.

In September 2024, the Greteman family, owner and operator of Windstar Lines, acquired Lenzner Coach Lines from Coach USA. Windstar Lines’ reputation for excellence, placing a strong emphasis on safety, service and efficiency, aligns perfectly with the same, long-standing values and legacy of Lenzner Coach Lines. This brings the added bonus that even under new ownership, Lenzner Coach Lines will retain its heritage and will operate as Lenzner Lines, LLC.

Together, the vision of Windstar Lines and Lenzner Lines creates an exciting new phase with opportunity for continued growth and expanded reach.
